What A Year It Was And What Does The Future Hold?

Yes it is tough. But... AES also feels that the current global economic, energy and environmental woes are harbingers of a major shift – in thinking about ourselves, our world and how we best live.

There is a lot of negative talk – and some real pain - out there and you could easily drown in it, be dragged down with it. Yet... a great and sustainable future OR a dismal one, remains a real choice. There are many things you can do to change your world. Great creativity is always born from great challenges.

So many opportunities are laid bare by the challenges. Grassroots know-how has already given anyone the power to modify their car to low-to-zero-emission electric or hydrogen gas power. You can apply relative easy and low-cost changes to your home to cut down on energy use and stay cool – or warm. Or build your own low-emission, environmentally responsible home.

Already wind and solar energy are close to cost efficiency parity with fossil fuel energy. Geothermal energy is promising. And recent developments in pocket-size nuclear energy plants may one day remove its radiation and costliness objections.

Government renewable energy incentives of various kinds will boom. So will “green investment.” President Obama's plans are reported to be worth around US$1 Trillion! Other governments will follow, Europe and China among those.

Most of all, a real shift in thinking is underway. AES will explore this important shift in 2009 as a powerful alternative, renewable energy. It can even mean that watching “green movies” can make a difference.

How Will AES Help You In 2009?

First an apology... My frequency of newsletter mail-outs has been below par this year and this will change. Some changes and additions are planned for in 2009.

These include a more interactive blog and further in-depth development on alternative energy and global warming.

Further opportunities for visitors to interact on AES, question and offer suggestions and opinions will expand.
