AES Newsletter, Issue #004 -- Alternate energy sources and things you can do about global warming October 15, 2006 |
||
| G'day < You received this email because you signed up to receive the Alternative Energy Sources Newsletter(AES Newsletter). As my site develops I will tell you about any opportunities to get better informed about alternate energy sources and global warming. AND about things you can do.This issue is devoted to making Christmas more "renewable." Wow! Halfway through October already. Christmas is here before you know it. You feel the pressure already to buy all kinds of things? Do you find that a lot of these consumer goods are not used, broken soon after or fulfil a "need" that we never knew you had? If you want to still buy Christmas presents why not buy something that is closer to the spirit of Christmas? Something that was made without exploiting cheap labour or the environment? Something well-made, useful and endurable? In that way you save energy AND “do good” at many levels, wouldn’t you? Well , then consider these online sources that you can use for gifts: Know a new mum? Well, what could be more in the spirit of Christmas than give baby basket:
Or give a beautiful Sterling Silver & Paua Shell Dragonfly Pin from Bali. OR… The ultimate Christmas tree! Give a rainforest tree to someone to protect our planet Rainforest Forever
It is also in the spirit of Christmas to re-use renewable products, don’t you think? Here’s an eBay-like site where you can buy and sell all kinds of renewable products:
Look for well-made products from green and clean New Zealand here. Perhaps a WOODEN photograph album cover? What? These photo album covers are unusual and just right for special memories Or get some Christmas decorations here You get the idea. Just trawl through my website to see what else you might find for that durable, socially responsible, renewable gift. Of course you don't need to buy anything to make your Christmas a success. Living a "sustainable" life all year through is all you need to do. Have you subscribed to my RSS feed? Don’t know what that is? Well it will keep you up to date with any updates to my website as they are launched. Merry Christmas!
