It seems strangely appropriate that Japan's Prime Minister has again vowed a nuclear-free future for his country in the wake of the Fukushima disaster. Sadly, radiation continues to leak from this nuclear plant damaged in this year's earthquake-caused tsunamis. It may not be the natural disasters we have to blame. Rather our insatiable, and thoughtless energy consumption leads us to energy 'solutions' that destroy us. No more electric toilert seat warmers for the Japanese who were actively encouraged to use nuclear-derived, 'abundant', electricity. As it applies to them, so it does to us... A major approach to a sustainable world in which it is a pleasure to live, is to become more conscious of what we use our energy for and save energy. Saving energy is also brought to consciousness through steeply riising energy prices world-wide. This is not a bad thing if we use these restrictions as great opportunities. The energy audit field is one.
