Chris Landsea, on resigning from the IPCC

by John
(WA)

I personally cannot in good faith continue to contribute to a process that I view as both being motivated by pre-conceived agendas and being scientifically unsound.

(While this quote was unattributed properly, I decided to publish it for two reasons. One, its source is easily found by 'googling' it and I accept it as a genuine quote. Two, AES is open to hearing different perspectives. However, this may be a useful example of a quote being taken out of context - pertaining to impact of global warming on hurricane strength only - but implicitly being held up to condemn the entire IPCC process. Here is an instructive discussion about this quote containing a comment AES subscribes to: "When our greatgrandchildren look back on this time 100 years from now, I'd rather them laugh at our paranoia (or whatever you might call incorrect and alarmist views on climate change) than lament our complacency" by "Matthew.
ED.)
