Church/non-profit Solar Energy Grants

by Lisa
(Nashville, TN)

Are there any solar energy grants for churches? I see grants for businesses and residential, but I haven't found anything for churches.

AES Response:

Excellent question Lisa! Church messages include that of care – for the Earth as well as for people. While not in your locality, this Wisconsin-based scheme "We Energies" does give renewable energy grants to non-profits, including churches. "Under the nonprofit/government program, the utility pays 50% of the costs that remain after deducting all grants a project has received."

Haven't got one where you are? These initiatives get up by people power. For inspiration, look at these UK-based schemes or these. Or this one in the far-away Orkneys.

Any other schemes for non-profits, churches or low-income groups anyone wants to tell us about? Use this free service to do it and create your own page on Alternate Energy Sources For A Flourishing Future.
