My brother made a working prototype of an electric childs car. For a disabled child. He drove one wheel off the shaft and the other wheel off ths motor housing! It worked perfectly but he didn't have the money to patent it. I believe that one of the Honda Solar challenge cars has since used the principle succesfully.. It increased the torque and reduced the current draw.
It is a concept I had thought of for years. I noted that a starter motor exerting drive, must naturally exert a equal and opposite torque to the housing.
