energy grant for historic home/farm
by Shan
(Colorado)
We live in a 100+ year old home that has been in our family since it was built. We also live on 103 acres that we use for farming/ranging.
We would like to add solar or wind energy to our home and farm...anything out there for us?
We looked into solar, but we couldn't afford the price even with the incentives offered by our utility company...it was still over $20,000.00 just for the house....too much for us.
Any thoughts?

Have you tried PACE financing of your solar system? cit stands for Property Assessed Clean Energy. It is a way to finance solar systems or energy efficiency retrofits. how? A city gives you a loan, and you pay it back through property tax bills over twenty years.
Love to hear how you go.
