Florida Residential Grants For Solar PV Panels

by Sharon
(NSB, Fl. Us)

I am disabled 5 years now, and my husband works full time(teacher), music director at a church Sundays and gives private lessons at home Saturdays. Are there grants for us to add panels and generate electricity for our home? Our electric bill runs $200+ and we have gas dryer, hot water and stove. We live in Florida. Thank you for any help. I tried to find on my own first. Sharon

AES Response:

Try this federal program Sharon:

and this Florida State program

This program offers $5000 for a solar water heater and $4 per watt for a photovoltaic system. That means a saving of around $12,000 from the state program. You can get $2000 in tax credits from the federal program. The state grants are given out on first come, first served basis. It['s capped to $5 Million for 08-09 and fully allocated so you will have to probably go on a waiting list. Hope this helps.
