Grant to start my own company to harvest solar power

by kimberly
(phoenix, az)

I am interested in building a solar power plant. What type of government restrictions will I run into and how easy is it to sell the power generated?

The Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC) can be converted to a grant but the status of this program is currently somewhat uncertain. Contact them here to find out more.

Generally, credits are available for eligible systems placed in service on or before December 31, 2016. These can include solar, fuel cell, small wind turbines, geothermal, micro turbines and combined heat/power projects.

There is also the Arizona SB 1403 law, signed in July of 2009. It created tax incentives intended to draw renewable energy product manufacturers to Arizona. Income tax credits and property tax incentives are available for companies choosing to establish or expand their manufacturing facilities and corporate headquarters in Arizona.
