Green job in Florida
by Joyce
(Tampa, FL, USA)
I am a civil engineer with 4 years of experience. My experience so far has been land development for 2 years and the last 2 years I've been working for an Environmental firm that specializes in landfill design.
I am looking to change my career. I am taking a course to be LEED Green Associate certified. I have been advised to take a course on solar energy.
Can anyone give me advise on how I can develop a green career or start my own business? What other courses or training should I take? I live in Florida so that might be a factor as to what type of career or business I can start.

Hi Joyce
Thanks for your question. Difficult to say what you
should do. Can we just say that energy efficiency is a very important part of strategies towards conserving energy and reduce greenhouse gasses. It is by no means a sufficient strategy in itself (read Tim Jackson's Prosperity without growth for example)but combined with a public mindset that is more about seeing ourselves as interdependent, small individual every-day actions, and green technologies gives us hope.
You may like to contact
Denby Energy , whose principal is a LEED-qualified engineer, to appreciate energy auditing as a strong string to your bow.

We cannot recommend them as we had no reports from anyone using it, but unlike other business angel network registration is free until you find a suitable entrepreneur/investor relationship.
