Is there a grant for students of solar technology?

My husband is unemployed in Brevard County Florida. The job market is slim to say the least. He has no real expertise and has used his brawn for employment. After a double hernia surgery and recovery, his job was not open. He is capable of learning. He is 55 and we are not set up for retirement. Collecting unemployment will not get us through.
He needs a field that will continue for him until retirement age and maybe longer. I think solar technology will do this in Florida. Can he get a grant for schooling in this field? We have no money for further education. Thank you for any solutions.
Thanks Melinda. We appreciate the difficult situation that you and your husband are in. Unfortunately we are not aware of any grants for schooling in solar technology. You might want to ask the

Other options are training in energy auditing on a payment plan. Check out
Denby Energy Auditing for that here. Even when starting with the basic level course there you will be able to make money from simple home energy auditing. You can do it as a standalone business or as an employee.
You can also look at using any knowledge or interest in building your own website business. You don't need to know anything about website building
with this package here. At $299 per year that might be affordable.
Hope this helps.
