Which university
by: Naveen

I have got offers from Newcastle university for masters in renewable energy (REFLEX), from Nottingham university for Masters in Electrical technology for renewable energy systems, from Warwick University for a Masters in energy and power electronics and Cranfield University for Masters in energy systems and thermal process .I would really like to know which university should I go for out of these, mainly in the solar energy field. Newcastle university and Cranfield have accredation from the Energy Institute, Imeche etc while Nottingham and Warwick do not have. So I also wanted to know what role would these accreditations play while selecting a university??

Great questions, the answers to which may benefit many people wishing to get tertiary qualifications in renewable energy.

Does anyone know the answers? Or has anyone directly asked universities?

Education is an increasingly competitive field so universities would only benefit from answering questions like:

How relevant are your qualifications to my future job prospects?

What standing do your accreditations have in the renewable energy industry?

The Energy Institute carries a lot of information on its site, so you can ask them directly too.

Likewise the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMECHE) also offers direct information here

Please let us know how you get on.

Best wishes,
