micro home wind/solar energy developement project

I am designing a combination wind and solar energy system for homes or business that I believe is unique and very affordable and can afford 24 hour energy in almost any location at a very reasonable price. I wish to apply for a govt. grant to complete a prototype system and patent it. Then eventually license the system for mass production. LeRoy, This seems like a worth-while project. But we are unable to find government grants for this purpose. But try contacting EERE here as they are funding some development of renewable technology.

Talk to the California Energy Commission here too.
It funds public interest R&D in renewable energy and for non profit research but may not have a program to suit you. But then, put your case! Who knows!

Also...

You may like to try the Australian Investment Network here. despite the name it claims to have a global reach. We cannot recommend it as we had no reports from anyone using it, but unlike other business angel network registration is free until you find a suitable entrepreneur/investor relationship.

Google
actually has supported a number of renewable energy business ideas. Why not try them? They're not short of a buck or two I understand!
