Solar Energy Grants For Our Colorado Home
by Sean
(Colorado)
We live in sunny Conifer, Colorado and would like to take advantage of the sunlight with some solar panels. The need to assist in heating and supplying electricity to our home becomes more and more important. Hence, seeking a grant for the solar choice is important also. Seems EERE is the best choice for this area, yet there's the possibility of another source? Trying to narrow down my search to some specifics...

The closest
grant scheme for home solar energy appears to be in Boulder, Colorado established in 2006. It is a minor scheme so far, having funded $65,000 worth of 161 kW (kilowatts) of PV plus two solar thermal systems. Perhaps you can draw Conifer's city father's attention to it...
Boulder's scheme seems based on State legislation (SB 145). It enables counties and municipalities to offer property and sales tax rebates or credits for installing renewable energy systems to home and business owners.
Individual cities and counties administer this scheme.
What can it assist?
"any fixture, product, system, device or interacting group of devices that produce electricity from renewable resources, including, but not limited to, photovoltaic systems, solar thermal systems, small wind systems, biomass systems, or geothermal systems."
Still not closer to a solution?
