Straw bale building solar wind power in Arizona
by Brad
(Thailand)
I recently purchased 25 acres in a rural area in Cochise county 3 miles off of the interstate. I built a straw bale house in WY before and I was curious if AZ has grants and such for what I'm interested in doing? I checked out DSIRE website and the AZ link, however I do not see anything for Cochise county. Does anyone have any other leads? I hear some states have green house grants for straw bale houses and such. I'm also interested in total solar/wind combination for power. I really really would appreciate some direction to helping build my dream home in the high desert. Thank you for any suggestions or help.

ps you can write to me directly if you wish, just put straw bale house in the subject line so I know it's not junk mail. bradcarruthers

Hi Brad
There is something
here, known as the Arizona's Solar Energy Credit... Not much, up to $1,000 as a tax credit against 25% of cost of your wind or solar energy systems, but you might like to inquire nonetheless. One thing might lead to another.
You might like to check out
Ecobusiness links too. Many straw bale builders there. You might strike it lucky with some insider sharing information.
