Temperature rises early in USA New Mexico

by Rachel
(Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States of America)

New Mexico has always been a desert with high heat and low humidity. Although the state is currently in a drought, the temperature has risen to 100 degrees in may, this is much earlier than usual.

Typically the high heat comes right before what might be called a "rainy season." This is about mid June to early August. In my years living in this state I never remember seeing 100 degree heat in May. there is also a wild life problem. It has been reported that the mountain lions from various parts of the mountain are coming closer to the cities. We think they are looking for food, but no one is certain.
